The
Brief history of our Club.
Preparation for creation of the Lions Club
" Minsk Central " was begun in May, 1994, during an occurring
of the Belarusian members of the Charitable initiative " Children
for children " with Lion Einar Lyngar, which one has taken place
in Moelv - town , Norway.
The first meeting was in the Children's Cancer Hospital in Minsk and Head
of it,Dr.Olga Aleinikova , is a charter member of the Club.
July 27, 1996 the Charter Night of Club was held, on which one there were
members of sponsoring Lions Club " Oslo Bygdoy " (Norway), coordinating
Lion Einar Lyngar, visitors from other Clubs from Norway and Belarus.
Since 1994, the Lions Club "Minsk Central" always followed to
the motto of Lions International - "We Serve ".
The members of the Club have organized many charitable actions, directing
on rendering assistance to children and families in Belarus, wich appeared
in a trouble and requiring the help.
We helped to Republican children's Cancer Center, to families with an
cancer-ill children, families of the Minsk- city, having children with
a children's cerebral paralysis, to Minsk Family Center of the social
- psychological help "Confidence", Urban Center of the social
help to families and children, and also to the other organizations, families
and children needed our support.
Our Club is cooperating in local service with the Lions friends from Belarus,
Norway, Italy,Germany,USA,GB,Poland etc.
By
main idea of the Club, in which one now consist artists, doctors, psychologists
and teachers, businessmen and musicians, other respected and known citizens
of the Minsk-City, there is an idea of the help for families in a crisis-life-situation.
For realization of this idea our Club has organizied many of different
charitable actions - "working Saturdays" in children's hospital,
exhibitions of artists in Belarus and abroad, concerts, fairs and so on.
We are sure, that our Club entered to the new millenium more stronger,
full by creative and organizational ideas about the help to the people.
